Some pet parents prefer to feed their best friend a raw or cooked dog food diet over commercial diets such as kibble or canned food. Though studies have shown that there are real health benefits to feeding dogs raw or cooked food diets over extruded diets, there are no significant differences in the digestibility between raw and cooked foods.
The danger of a raw diet lies in possible health risks to your pet. Due to the open standards within the pet food industry in Australia, meat found in raw diets can become contaminated if not handled properly. Salmonella and E. coli are common concerns with bacterial contamination occurring from the hide or feathers, or during the processing and packaging procedures.
Total raw food diets may also not contain all essential vitamins and minerals for your pet’s health.
Why is The Nosh Project different?
The Nosh Project Daily Diets are neither an extruded or raw diet. Our Daily Diets are made with only human-grade ingredients and prepared in a human-grade kitchen facility. This ensures the strict food handling and processing standards are followed to eliminate possible contamination. All of our meals are slow cooked at a consistent temperature. This ensures that all harmful bacteria are killed but does not affect the levels of nutrients.
